Mosaic Student Quilt

Abstract

A handmade quilt made by SU student members of "Mosaic Meetups". The quilt has handrawn panels that are each related to a story. With the quilt are two tote bags that were used to transport the quilt to Distinctive Collections. The quilt is titled "Finding Joy".

Neal Calnan Collection of Texas Young Republicans

Scope and Contents This collection houses three different Texas Young Republican’s leaders papers: Neil Calnan, George Darby, and Linda Underwood. They are arranged in that order. Both Darby and Underwood gave their papers to Neil Calnan with the understanding that they would be donated along with his to the John G. Tower Library. Reba McMinn Letters

Scope and Contents

The collection contains McMinn’s letters to hometown friend Mary Biggerstaff throughout McMinn’s college experiences. Biggerstaff, who was approximately a year behind McMinn, studied at TCU in Fort Worth. Most of the letters were written consistently once a week (Thursdays for the most part.) Several letters from her friends Intha, Frieda Wirtz, and May accompany the collection.

Vol 1. 1924-1939; vol. 2 1939-1947. Includes information regarding Gaupp's father, Dr. Frederick E. Gaupp, who taught at Southwestern. The memoir primarily relates family history. Prof. Bill Jones has written a summary description that accompanies the volumes. The Gaupp's fled Germany, leaving the boys in England and Switzerland.
